Vivian Annan is a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of healthcare experience and currently serves as a Nurse Practitioner with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. She also serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve.
Born in Ghana and raised in the United States, Vivian is passionate about improving access to preventive healthcare and early childhood education in underserved communities. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brooklyn College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and a Master of Science in Nursing from Drexel University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in conjunction to promoting the mission and vision of Sankoboa Ghana.
As President of Sankoboa Ghana, Vivian provides strategic leadership and works closely with community partners in both the United States and Ghana to develop sustainable programs that support education and preventive healthcare initiatives in rural communities. She believes service to others is the greatest gift a person can give to humanity.

My name is Vivian Ninson, and I am honored to serve as the Secretary of Sankoboa Ghana. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), I have dedicated my career to caring for others, promoting health and wellness, and advocating for individuals and families in need.
Through my professional experience in healthcare, I have developed strong skills in communication, organization, documentation, patient education, and teamwork. These skills allow me to effectively support the mission and operations of Sankoboa Ghana while helping to build meaningful connections within the communities we serve.
Service has always been important to me. I am passionate about giving back through volunteer work and community outreach efforts that improve the lives of others. I believe that access to education, healthcare, and community support are essential foundations for long-term success and well-being.
As Secretary of Sankoboa Ghana, I am responsible for maintaining organizational records, documenting meetings, supporting communication among board and committee members, and helping ensure that our organization operates efficiently and effectively. I take pride in contributing to the growth and sustainability of our mission.
I am deeply committed to Sankoboa Ghana’s vision of empowering communities through education, preventive health initiatives, and sustainable development. Dr. Theresa Benjamin is a dedicated educational leader with extensive experience in school administration, having served at East Stroudsburg High School South and Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School. Passionate about youth development and educational excellence, she is the President and Founder of Daughters of Destiny and Hope, a nonprofit organization focused on mentoring, empowering, and inspiring young girls to reach their full potential.
Dr. Benjamin is also an active member of the Philanthropic Education Organization, Chapter CK, where she continues to support initiatives that strengthen education and community engagement. She earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University, further enhancing her expertise in guiding schools, students, and communities toward meaningful growth, leadership, and lasting success.

Dahlia Davidson is thrilled to serve as a Board Member for Sankoboa Ghana — an organization she believes in wholeheartedly. Originally from Jamaica and proudly rooted in Brooklyn, NY, Dahlia’s connection to Sankoboa Ghana begins with a cherished friendship. She met founder Vivian as her supervisor at Bay Imaging Center, and what started as a work relationship blossomed into a lifelong friendship. Knowing Vivian’s heart and her unwavering commitment to serving others, Dahlia is honored to support every effort to make this mission a reality.
Professionally, Dahlia is a Program Evaluation Specialist with the New York State Office of Mental Health, where she helps improve program operations through data-driven analysis, quality improvement initiatives, performance reporting, and accreditation readiness. She previously spent over 20 years coordinating medical residency and student programs at The Brooklyn Hospital Center, managing compliance with national accrediting bodies and the overall administration of the program. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brooklyn College, CUNY. Active in her community, she serves at Christian Heritage Church in various capacities and also serves as Secretary on the Board of New Horizons Ministries. Dahlia loves volunteering, reading, serving, and occasionally designing flyers and programs.

My name is Pete Obeng, MD, MSPH, and I am honored to serve as a member of the board. Originally from the eastern region of Ghana, I moved to the United States in the late 1980s, where I completed my secondary and post-secondary education, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy, a Master of Science in Public Health, and my Doctor of Medicine degree. Though my career flourished in the U.S., I remain deeply rooted in Ghana. Growing up in a resource-limited community before moving, I experienced firsthand the profound impact that a lack of healthcare and education can have. Bringing decades of experience as a physician, health and fitness entrepreneur, and real estate investor, my goal is to leverage both my clinical and public health background to help build sustainable, life-changing resources for the communities that need them most.

She serves as a Committee Member of Sankoboa Ghana, leading Event Planning and Fundraising activities. Her passion for service spans continents — she has volunteered with the Red Cross Disaster Relief, World Vision, Water for Life, Habitat for Humanity, and Homeless Shelters across America.

Camyrn Catherine Afua Atta Thomas is a Board Member with Sankoboa Ghana, where she assists with event planning and social media content. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and brings a background in public health, with a particular passion for promoting preventive health initiatives that support the organization's mission. Camyrn also looks forward to providing hands-on care and health education to the children and families who need it most.
She currently serves as a Registered Nurse at St. Luke's University Hospital, where she is committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care.
As a first-generation American with strong family ties to Ghana, Camyrn has witnessed firsthand the challenges many individuals face in accessing quality healthcare and education. Seeing the struggles of her family members and communities in Ghana inspired her to give back. Through her service with Sankoboa Ghana, she hopes to help create lasting, positive change by improving access to healthcare, education, and opportunities for those who need them most.

Cynthia Acheampong serves as Treasurer on the Committee of Sankoboa Ghana and is an active member of the Finance Team. She supports the organization's mission to improve education, promote preventive healthcare, and empower underserved communities.
As Treasurer, she provides financial oversight, ensuring transparency and accountability. She contributes to budgeting, planning, and reporting to support sustainable growth.
Cynthia has experience in finance, procurement, and administration, with strong analytical and organizational skills. She is committed to ethical practices and effective governance.
She actively participates in committee meetings, supports fundraising, and collaborates with fellow members to strengthen the organization.
Cynthia is also passionate about community service, volunteering as a Lunch Monitor and Children's Service Teacher. Her dedication reflects Sankoboa Ghana's values and mission.
